Overview
The TOEFL® ITP is a low-tech, cost-effective method of testing the English ability of groups of students.

The TOEFL® ITP (Institutional Testing Programme), derived from the paper-based TOEFL® test, provides institutions with a reliable and  valid  measure of students’ English skills of listening, reading and grammar. It is a low-tech and cost-effective method of testing groups of students of any size within classrooms – it is, hence, flexible and facilitates instructor ease of use. TOEFL® ITP consists of previously administered TOEFL® test forms, which your institution can order from ETS Middle East. These can then be administered at any time on your facilities, using your staff, and then returned to us for scoring. In essence, the TOEFL® ITP is a mock exam based on the more formal TOEFL® test.

It is ideal to include the TOEFL® ITP in your programme because:

  • It is based on TOEFL®, the most reliable academic English language assessment,
  • It is convenient – you can administer it anytime, on your own facilities, using your own staff,
  • It is a mock exam that is an accurate predictor of performance on the secure and more formal TOEFL® test,
  • It can be used to assess the progress of students, since it can be administered easily any number of times,
  • It is a motivational tool for students wishing to improve their level of English.
