The ETS Research & Development division provides R & D to support existing assessments, to develop future products and services, and to advance educational measurement and policy research worldwide.
ETS is one of the foremost organisations in educational measurement research and analysis, and innovative product development. Playing a pivotal role in our operations is the ETS Research & Development Division. It has around 600 staff members; more than 150 have doctorates and another 160 hold advanced degrees. Among the R&D staff are internationally distinguished psychometricians and statisticians. The research staff routinely engages in research and analysis
in support of existing assessments,
to support the design of prototypes for future assessment products and services, and
to advance educational measurement and policy research worldwide.
In addition, ETS researchers and analysts regularly publish reports that contribute to the policy debate on pressing educational issues. To ensure that they remain up-to-date, innovative and flexible, our research teams collaborate with other research organisations around the world that are engaged in similar pursuits.
